Basic Life Support (BLS) & AED
Is this for you?
This course is designed to provide learners with the key fundamental knowledge & skills to respond to a medical emergency. You will be able to perform effective CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely.
Fantastic for primary care settings, Health Care Assistants, Emergency Care Technicians, and those wanting to know the essentials of what to do in a life-threatening emergency.
How long is this course?
This is a 3-hour course, start times can be determined by you!
What is covered during this course?
This course provides basic life-saving first aid skills and the knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, covering:
- Primary Survey
- Adult/Child/Infant CPR
- Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Recovery position
- Choking
- Anaphylaxis & use of an EpiPen
How will I be assessed?
You will have continuous assessment from the trainer/assessor running the course. There are no formal exams but our trainer will monitor your progress throughout the course.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes!
On successful completion of this course, you will receive your own ALS Med Basic Life Support (BLS) & AED certificate which is valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
You will also receive a First Aider pin badge and CPR Faceshield keyring.
