Our Mission

ALS Med was founded by two paramedics with a passion for high-quality and affordable event medical cover. Recruiting a range of trusted, well-experienced and dedicated staff, we promise to provide a world-class service, for an affordable price. With over a decade of event medicine experience, we already have a range of experience in music festivals, sporting, dirt track events, music events, fun fairs and more!

One thing we have noticed with current NHS demand is the increase in wait times. Having an onsite medical team means you can eliminate the lengthy waiting times of responding ambulances from the local ambulance service. We can see, assess, treat and safely discharge patients on-site due to a wide range of clinical skills and equipment at our disposal; thus reducing the demand on the local NHS ambulance service.

We have a plethora of staff and skillsets which include FREC Responders, Frontline Ambulance Staff (Technicians and Paramedics), Advanced Practitioners, Critical Care Team members and a range of command and control staff.

Meet the Team

Alex Blenkiron — Director & Specialist Paramedic (UC & Forensic Medicine)

Alex has over a decade of pre-hospital experience and is currently serving as a Specialist Paramedic with a focus on Urgent Care & Forensic Medicine in the Criminal Justice System. He holds training in wound closure, enhanced examination skills, and point-of-care ultrasound, allowing him to deliver high-level interventions directly at the scene.

His specialist skills enable on-the-spot treatment of patients who might otherwise require conveyance to A&E, helping reduce unnecessary hospital visits and alleviating pressure on local NHS services.

Alex is also a passionate educator in first aid and pre-hospital care, working to empower responders and raise clinical standards across event medicine and training provision.

Liam Ormsby — Director & Specialist Paramedic (Primary Care)

Liam brings over a decade of frontline experience to ALS Med Ltd, and currently works as a Specialist Paramedic in Primary Care. With an extensive background in urgent and emergency care, Liam is highly skilled in advanced clinical interventions, including wound closure, enhanced patient assessments, and complex decision-making in challenging environments.

Liam’s enhanced capabilities allow him to provide definitive care on scene, such as treating minor injuries or infections, which helps avoid unnecessary hospital admissions and eases the burden on local NHS emergency departments.

A passionate advocate for high-quality event medicine, Liam combines clinical excellence with operational leadership, ensuring ALS Med delivers safe, effective, and responsive care at every event.

Our staff have decades of experience in the medical field. All staff are highly trained in emergency medical care and some have completed extra education courses in Pre-Hospital Emergency Care with BASICS charity and other leading organisations, thus ensuring our staff are capable of dealing with anything an event may throw at them.

We believe there is no one better to deliver first aid training than one of our registered First Aid Trainers who in their full-time jobs are Paramedics working in the NHS. Our paramedics can deliver first-hand experience of pre-hospital care.
