Are you a university student in healthcare?

We are proud to offer the opportunity for university students in healthcare to attend events with ALS Med to increase your exposure to the event medicine world. 


If you want external placement hours or want to experience what it's like being in a clinical setting at events like festivals or sporting events, then this opportunity is for you!

What healthcare courses are included?

  • Student Paramedics
  • Student Nurses

If you are from a different healthcare course and are interested in this opportunity, then don't hesitate to email us with your course details and we will do our best to help accommodate your needs. 

How will this benefit me?

  • Dedicated clinicians who have completed accredited mentorship courses to teach, mentor and assess. 
  • A range of clinical exposure from minor wound care to traumatic injuries. 
  • An environment full of clinicians who will teach and help you learn new skills or practice those core fundamental skills.  
  • Sign off competencies for Student Paramedics (Subject to status).

What do I need to qualify for this opportunity?

To qualify for this opportunity in ALS Med, you will need the following:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Proof of course you are studying and year of programme (eg. 1st Year, 2nd Year, 3rd Year etc.)
  • Proof of student membership with a professional body (eg. College of Paramedics, Royal College of Nursing)
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate
  • Evidence of BLS competence completion. 
  • Ability to pass relevant internal assessments to ensure safety and compliance; eg. BLS/ILS/ALS, Trauma Management, and Conscious Patient Assessment. 
  • Full substantial driving license (Category B)


DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Evidence of manual handling
  • Safeguarding Level 1 course
